This website contains information and resources for the AP Literature and Composition, English III, and English IV courses that I teach, as well as information and resources for teaching and learning creative writing.
I lead a variety of workshops designed for literary writers and other creative professionals via the CreativeMornings global platform.
A session of artistic inspiration and individual studio work in the company of other creatives. During our time together we will:
✅ Draw inspiration from artistic works outside our field of expertise
✅ Apply principles of artistic crossover to harness creative energy in the midst of chaos
✅ Make progress on an individual creative project
✅ Reflect on our creative work and define our approach to meaningful progress
You’ll leave with creative inspiration, motivation, and crossover tips to help you practice your art in the context of contemporary social upheaval.
Literary writing can spark discussions that recognize our common humanity across differences.
How do we practice writing as an art form? How do we craft poems and stories that connect with readers and inspire authentic conversations?
We explore these questions and more, examining tools and strategies for crafting compelling poems and stories that inspire deeply meaningful discussions.
During the winter and spring breaks, I host a literary externship for undergraduate students at Rice University. During the externship, which is tailored to the needs and career interests of each student, we discuss information and resources related to any and all literary matters. Below are some of the notes from previous externships.
